This is a place where I have displayed some of my personal writing for public scrutiny. Short stories I post after primary edits will be made public here. As a general warning, many of these are unfinished and contain spoilers for an overarching plot.

The Unfinished Stories

The “Unfinished Stories”—a sequence of loosely connected tales set in the same world and all driving toward a collective end—can be roughly categorized as fantasy, though the magic you’ll find in these pages is scarce. They’re more meant as practices in dialogue, worldbuilding, and action on feedback provided by early readers. Please don’t hesitate to take inspiration from these snippets—it’s one of my main reasons for including them on this site.

Unfinished Stories: Child of the Sun

Introduction: This snippet is presented as the fifth of my “unfinished stories”—a series of short tales I’ve begun to enjoy including here on the Goblin Opinions site. This one is particularly unique, as it was originally intended to be the prologue of a novel I began writing last November. Now, things got a little sidetracked…

Unfinished Stories: Old Home

Note: While still a part of my public “Unfinished Stories” collection, Old Home is rather disconnected from the main overarching plot. Unfinished Stories: Grey Lights

These tales, all interconnected and taking place in the same city, should ideally be read in order from The Most Welcoming of Secrets to The Silver Shark. As with above, feedback and critique are welcome.

The Most Welcoming of Secrets

Abine wasn’t tired.  But he was supposed to be, wasn’t he? He was retired. He had seen the world and it had seen him.  So why wasn’t he tired? You’d think he would be tired. Old, even. That was what was expected of him. That he would just yield the moment they told him, take…

Science Fiction Writings

Alongside the above ventures into fantasy, I plan on exploring a variety of other genres in my writing. The first of these explorations, The Winds of the Storm, was written late in 2021.

The Winds of the Storm

Introduction: This short story was written late in 2021 to be submitted to an online contest of short stories. I’ve decided to post it here, so that it may be viewed by the visitors of this site. It varies distinctly from the other short stories I have presented here; I categorize this tale as science…
